Workshop mit Jugendlichen Fotografie

Images have become an indispensable part of today’s media landscape. But what messages do they convey, and who is behind them? Photographs can make complex issues visible, yet they can also quickly appear oversimplified. During the project days, young participants work with international photographers to explore what it means to consciously use photography as a medium of communication and to convey their own visual messages.

The module is aimed at young people aged 12 and above and takes place at their home institution, such as a school. The project days are practice-oriented and based on engaging with a selected thematic focus, which the photographers bring from their own work. In one- or two-day sessions, participants gain insight into photographic practice and learn about different forms of communication through images. They are sensitized to the composition, impact, and analysis of photography and learn more about how photography can be used to promote a sustainable and just world. As a result of the project days, the young people create their own visual stories on a chosen key topic, supported by technical guidance.
